Valluvar College of Science and Management was established in the year 2004, with a magnanimous vision of creating human assets with high ethics, who would considerably contribute for the betterment of the nation. It's a co-educational institution affiliated to Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli. The college offers 13 Undergraduate programmes, 5 Postgraduate programmes, M.Phil. and Ph.D. in Commerce. The college has the noble aim of enhancing the knowledge of students belonging to rural society, minorities, and economically down trodden by offering a need-based education and ensuring secured placements.
Valluvar College of Science and Management achieved significant milestones in 2023, marking a testament to its commitment to academic excellence and quality assurance by securing an A+ Credit rating during the 1st Cycle of accreditation by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and obtained approval from the All-India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) in the same year for offering MBA programme , showcasing its adherence to national standards for technical education.
The college proactively participates in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements (ARIIA), Institution's Innovation Council (IIC), the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA), and various other government initiatives. The college received a 4.0 Star Rating in the IIC Ranking 2022 and was named a Band Performer in the ARIIA 2021.Valluvar College of Science and Management is the only institution among all the affiliated colleges of Bharathidasan University to hold a licence for organising TEDx events.
